Hello, This has been mentioned before in these forums and elsewhere on the web. I'm wondering if anyone here has had any luck in getting this card to work under Windows 7?
I tried the Vista drivers, but the device manager just reports "This device cannot start. I know I'm not the only one who has this problem. Why does the Compatibility Center list this card as compatible? Is there a workaround or a hack to get it to work again? Promise still lists the Ultra TX2 as a "current product", not an archived one. I know this is entirely their fault and not Microsoft, aside from the fact that the Compat Center lists the card as compatible.
Thanks so much for anyone who can help me tweak things to get this card to work. I'd like to avoid purchasing a new card if possible. Tuesday, November 17, PM. Thursday, November 19, AM. Hey, someone told me when it comes to driver issue, it is only the third party manufacture you can count on, it is their work to write new drivers compatible to the latest OS. If Promise won't spare any effort on it and the previous driver did not help, then replace the card.

Pls extract the driver folder first. Go to device Manger, right click the device and right click to "update the driver", choose "let me pick the path".
Currently, still a large market belong to Windows Vista even Windows XP, their product can still make money for them, Promise won't cut the way too early. As for the cooperation between Microsoft and Promise, better they can figur it out soon or just forget it. Monday, November 23, AM. Hi, I'm already using the same card on Windows 7, but 32 bits version, this way i got it to work perfectly. The bit version however, does not work with the promise ultra TX2, so i guess you'll have no other option than to replace the card or to 'dump' the HDD's or use them over a direct USB-connection, which works decently fast nowadays.
However, replacing the several HDD's is not a bad case, due to a 'big' reduced power consumption. Hope this is helpful. Wednesday, November 25, PM. And since my company decided to lay me off Sunday, December 6, AM. Screw you, Promise! You could try running a bit release client for free untill you get a new job and you're able to make the step to 64 bit. Windows is much more expensive than a HDD anyway.
It also broke my heart to dump my three HDD's, but i guess pain will be gone once i get my new screaming fast samsung hdd to run the boot-sector ; And the weirdest thing, it was one of the cheapest HDD available, but by far one of the fastest, i don't get it If your C: paritition lies entirely within the first GB you should be fine.
If any of those files resides beyond the GB boundary it won't boot. That product work. After you extract there will be an amd64 folder - load the driver from there and voila! Very good no problems!! Windows 7 x It says partly working on my cpu in response 2. Wont work Covert Ops. Internet Tools.
