Nokia upgrade software e71

General - Time zones updated - Improvements to localization - Localization fixes - Missing localizations added - Operator name database updated - Startup Settings updated - Certificates updated - Security updates - Stability and functionality improvements - Barcode reader icon changed from 1D icon to 2D icon - Windows DRM keys are not lost during NSU update from Email - Mail for Exchange upgraded from version 2.

I am surprised by such an extensive list, especially given that my E71 has been a pretty solid device with rock solid and yet caressable hardware.

If you have an E71, you may want to upgrade to this latest firmware that looks to focus on stability and functionality improvements. Be aware that this update will completely erase your device. I didn't do a backup because it was time for me to make a clean install of applications so I am not sure if a restore from a backup will work with this update. The one major weakness I find on the E71 is the camera purple hue and am curious to see if this was able to be corrected with this firmware update.

Anyone try the update and have experiences to talk about? Developers are in short supply. As neither the E71 nor the E66 support UDP user data preservation you will need to back up your device before installing the firmware update. Mail for Exchange version 2.

This Mail for Exchange version can also be downloaded from the Nokia website , however this version does not support sub-folders which is only available for Mail for Exchange on some S60 3. Nokia Messaging can also be downloaded from the Nokia website. I recommend to subscribe to that thread top, left-hand side because when a workaround is known, you get notified by E-mail. Did you consider the Nokia Software Recovery Tool already? Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback.

One of the more significant updates is to the email functionality. Nokia Messaging, with its custom email client, is pre-installed and more stable than in previous versions. The old style email client is still used for Mail for Exchange and other corporate email accounts.

Email set up has been improved; in many cases all you will need to enter is an email address and password. Note: Although a newer version of Quickoffice 5.
